André Küüsvek assumes office as NIB President and CEO

André Küüsvek assumed office as the new President and CEO of the Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) in Helsinki today.

The former Managing Director of Central Asia at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has over 25 years of experience in international finance in various positions at the EBRD. Prior to that, he worked in leading private banks in Estonia and Germany.

NIB is the international financial institution of the Nordic and Baltic countries The mission of the Bank is to finance projects that improve the productivity and benefit the environment of the Nordic and Baltic countries. NIB was established 1975 by the Nordic countries. Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania became members in 2005.

Mr André Küüsvek (Estonia) is the first NIB president from a Baltic member country. The President is appointed by the Board of Directors for a term of five years at a time. At NIB, he follows Henrik Normann, who has retired from the Bank after serving nine years.
