NIB and Falkenbergs Sparbank jointly support SME growth and environmental projects

NIB and Falkenbergs Sparbank have signed a loan programme of SEK 200 million (EUR 18.6 million) with a maturity of seven years for on-lending to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and environmental projects in Sweden.

The loan programme aims to improve access to financing for smaller businesses in the municipalities of Falkenberg and Halmstad, and in extension to foster productivity growth, market efficiency and employment in the region.

The facility is mainly targeted at local businesses that are active in sectors such as manufacturing, real estate management, agriculture and forestry, construction and transportation. Eligible investments further include environmental projects, such as renewable energy and energy efficiency investments.

Falkenbergs Sparbank is the 13th largest independent savings bank in Sweden in terms of total assets. Founded it 1856, the bank operates three branches in Falkenberg, Getinge and Ullared.
