Stakeholders invited to hearings on EU Sustainable Finance group’s interim report

On 18 July, the EU High-Level Expert Group on Sustainable Finance, in which NIB participates as observer, will arrange a public hearing on the Group’s interim report. The event will allow stakeholders to provide feedback to the European Commission and the Group on ways to establish a more sustainable financial system.

Established by the European Commission at the end of 2016, the High-Level Expert Group is mandated to help develop a comprehensive, overarching EU strategy on sustainable finance. After six months of intensive work, the Expert Group has summarised first results and policy options in an interim report which will be published on 10 July 2017.

This public hearing is an opportunity to discuss in detail the interim report and the Group’s work so far. There will be three panels covering the challenges and opportunities of sustainable finance, the EU’s investment needs and how to re-engineer the current financial regulation.

WHEN – 18th July, 08.30 to 16.15

WHERE – Alcide de Gasperi Auditorium, Charlemagne Building, European Commission

WHO – Guest speakers include John Kay and Jens Spahn.
