NIB and the cash handling company Loomis AB in Sweden have signed a loan totalling CHF 90 million (EUR 75 million) to finance the company's acquisition of the Swiss valuables logistics company VIA MAT.

The eight-year maturity loan will finance the strategic acquisition, which enables Loomis to expand its product offering to a new business segment consisting of international services. The newly acquired multinational operations consist of cross-border transportation of cash and precious metals, storage of valuables, and general logistics solutions. In addition, the acquisition gives Loomis a presence in four new strategic markets: Hong Kong, the United Arab Emirates, Brazil and Germany.

As a result of VIA MAT’s strong position in the Swiss cash handling market, the acquisition makes Loomis the market leader in cash handling in Switzerland. Additionally, the company benefits from VIA MAT’s dense and well-coordinated transportation network in Switzerland.

Loomis operates in 20 countries and has 21,000 employees and about 400 branch offices. The headquarters of Loomis are located in Stockholm, Sweden.

The Bank finances private and public projects in and outside the member countries.
