Project
The 8-year-maturity loan totalling EUR 60 million has been provided for financing the acquisition of the outdoor products operations within Komatsu Zenoah of Japan. The outdoor-product range comprises mainly brush cutters, chainsaws, trimmers and blowers. Production is based in Japan and China. The acquisition of these Komatsu Zenoah operations will strengthen Husqvarna’s strategic position and provide greater opportunities for growth. Husqvarna, established in 1689, is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of outdoor power products for forestry and lawn and garden care, as well as cutting equipment and diamond tools for the construction and stone industries.
Sustainability summary
Husqvarna’s environmental responsibility is anchored in all its operations and covers everything from production processes, consumption of material and energy, product features such as exhaust emissions, noise levels, and packaging to the recyclability of products. The acquisition of Komatsu Zenoah’s outdoor products operations will not increase today’s known and manageable environmental impact. The Zenoah site at Kowagoe in Japan has an ISO 14001-compliant environmental management system. The Changzhow site in China does not have a certified environmental management system.
