Project

The loan totalling EUR 100 million will finance the Atlas Copco Group’s acquisition of Swedish Dynapac, a producer of compaction and paving equipment for the road construction market. Dynapac has production sites in six countries and sales in over 115 countries. The Atlas Copco Group, founded already in 1873, has its headquarters in Sweden. The group is the world’s leading provider of industrial productivity solutions with a global reach of more than 150 markets. The group runs 70 manufacturing sites in about 20 countries. Atlas Copco companies develop and manufacture industrial tools, compressed air equipment, construction and mining equipment, assembly systems, and offer rental and other related services. The company has identified road construction as a strategic growth area and is set to implement an investment programme for both emerging and mature markets worldwide, including China and India. The acquisition of Dynapac, will strengthen Atlas Copco’s position on the expanding global market and add a new range of products for construction customers.

Sustainability summary

According to the available data, the use of raw materials and energy, emissions to air, discharges of wastewater, the generation of waste and noise as well as other environmental impacts are generally in compliance with EU standards and NIB’s requirements. Since Dynapac’s environmental work will be subordinated within the Atlas Copco Group, the acquisition can be expected to contribute to strengthening the environmental management procedures at the Dynapac-run facilities. 92% of Atlas Copco’s manufacturing units have been certified according to the environmental management system standard ISO 14001. According to Atlas Copco’s policies, all acquired enterprises are required to certify their operations according to ISO 14001.
