The loan totalling EUR 25 million is intended for onlending to small and medium-sized enterprises among SPRON’s customers with particular focus on projects in infrastructure and environmental improvements. The loan will also support women entrepreneurs who have completed a state-backed start-up enterprise course. Established in 1932, SPRON is the largest savings bank in Iceland and No. 4 in the country’s banking community in terms of assets. It operates nine branches located throughout the greater Reykjavik area.
