NIB starts public consultation on its Sustainability Policy

On 30 September, NIB’s Board of Directors approved the Bank’s updated Sustainability Policy. As the next step, NIB invites its stakeholders to a public consultation on the policy. The updated Sustainability Policy will enter into force after the public consultation process has been completed.

The updated Sustainability Policy for public consultation is available here. The consultation process is open for 30 days. We invite our stakeholders to provide comments on the document by 30 October 2021 to info@nib.int.

“We believe this policy has the potential to further develop NIB’s sustainable finance offering whilst doing what is necessary to reach the goals of the Paris Agreement and UN SDGs. We are looking forward to receiving comments on the updated document,” says Luca De Lorenzo, Head of Sustainability & Mandate at NIB.

NIB will consider the received contributions and possibly make an amended version of the Sustainability Policy for a separate Board of Directors approval. If, after the public consultation period has passed, there are no changes to the policy, the policy shall be deemed approved. The Bank will publish the contributions received after the consultation period (if the author’s consent is given) and NIB’s response to the consultation, explaining the outcome of the process.
