In four years since the launch of the CLEERE (Climate Change, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy) lending facility, NIB has committed EUR 3 billion to projects aimed at promoting renewable energy, energy efficiency and other measures of abating and adapting to climate change.
Within the CLEERE framework, NIB financed 84 environmental projects, including the offshore wind turbine parks Horns Rev II and Anholt, hydropower plants, improving energy efficiency of buildings and municipal infrastructure.
NIB has more projects in the pipeline that promote the generation and use of renewable energy, which would decrease greenhouse gas emissions and deal with negative impact on the environment.
