NIB President: Joint Nordic action for Green investments

NIB President and CEO Johnny Åkerholm calls for coordinated Nordic actions in order to enhance the attractiveness of financing green projects.

“The Nordic countries could enhance the credibility by coordinated actions. The Nordic standardisation policies should be coordinated from a long-term perspective. The pricing of emissions and other externalities should be developed on a pan-Nordic level. And finally, the requirements for support to research and development should be coordinated and made available on a pan-Nordic level,” NIB President said in his introductory remarks at the Nordic Prime Ministers’ Globalisation Forum held on 31 October 2011 in Copenhagen. Green growth was the focus of the Globalisation Forum.
