  • NIB has signed an uncommitted credit facility of up to EUR 63.5 million with the Finnish Wellbeing Services County of North Ostrobothnia (Pohde), with a maximum maturity of 30 years.
  • The loan will finance a new logistics and support services centre at Oulu University Hospital.
  • The centre will consolidate critical hospital support functions and enable higher service volumes using existing resources.

The project is part of the OYS2030 programme. It comprises the new logistics and support services centre, medical and operational equipment, a medical cyclotron, and associated demolition and infrastructure work. The medical cyclotron will enable the local production of radiopharmaceuticals used in precision diagnostic imaging and targeted cancer treatments. Construction is expected to start in 2027, and the project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2030.

“Investments of this scale require long-term and sustainable financing. The framework agreement with NIB supports the systematic implementation of these investments and Pohde’s strategic financial planning. The investment will enable the further development of the university hospital’s logistics and support services and is an important part of the hospital’s renewal programme,” says Anu Vuorinen, Chief Strategy and Finance Officer at Pohde.

“This investment will make critical hospital support functions more efficient, while strengthening the security of supply for specialised healthcare. We are pleased to support investments that improve healthcare capacity and will benefit patients,” says André Küüsvek, NIB President and CEO.

The Wellbeing Services County of North Ostrobothnia, Pohde, is responsible for the wellbeing, health and safety of approximately 418,000 residents in North Ostrobothnia. It operates across 30 municipalities.
