Explore biodiversity with NIB at Folkemødet
On Thursday, 15th June, we cordially invite you to participate in a crucial panel discussion centred around the theme of biodiversity, focusing on whether corporations are adequately informed about the necessary measures that must be undertaken.
This critical debate is set to unfold at Folkemødet, recognised as Denmark’s Democracy Festival, and is organised in collaboration with NEFCO, the Nordic Green Bank, the Nordic Council and the Nordic Council of Ministers. The gathering will take place in the picturesque town of Allinge, located on Denmark’s island of Bornholm.
Tackling biodiversity loss: a call for action
In the face of mounting biodiversity loss, a call to action is required to reverse this dangerous trend and restore our ecosystems. A collective effort from all societal actors is imperative. Following the recent adoption of the new Global Biodiversity Framework, the private sector is also now called upon to play its part by endorsing and assisting the restoration of biological diversity by the year 2030.
Questions such as how corporations can bolster biodiversity through nature-positive practices, the role financial institutions can play in channeling capital flows towards nature-positive investments, and how ordinary citizens can initiate dialogue with businesses about biodiversity, will take centre stage during the discussion.
The panel discussion will feature distinguished speakers from various sectors including business, finance, and civil society. The ethos of Folkemødet is to provide a platform where individuals and politicians can convene and deliberate on current political affairs.
