EUR 50 million loan to Copenhagen Energy

On 19 December, NIB signed a loan agreement with Copenhagen Energy (Københavns Energi), the municipal heating utility of the Danish capital. The loan totalling DKK 375 million (EUR 50 million) is earmarked for the financing of a new heating tunnel in Copenhagen. The four-kilometre tunnel will be constructed 30 metres under the ground. The new heating tunnel will secure the future supply of heating to the inhabitants of Copenhagen. The project has a significant positive environmental impact.
