Customers appreciate NIB's long-term loans

A fresh stakeholder survey shows that the greatest value NIB adds for its lending customers is long-term loans. Public authorities emphasise the need to support Nordic-Baltic projects and sustainability in the region. Investors value the highest possible credit rating, safety and stability.

NIB is actively seeking feedback on its operations. In 2012, NIB conducted a stakeholder survey for the second time among its customers, investors and public authorities of its member countries. The main goal was to measure NIB’s reputation and added value offered to these target groups. According to the results, NIB has maintained its very good reputation compared with the results from a similar survey conducted in 2009.

“We are pleased to see that awareness of NIB has increased among our core stakeholders, especially among potential customers and public authorities,” says Jukka Ahonen, NIB’s Head of Communications.

For the 2012 survey, NIB added some additional open questions. The answers revealed that the Bank’s key stakeholders know what they want from NIB.

The survey confirmed that NIB’s stakeholder groups have different expectations of the Bank. Lending customers want long-term financing, investors prefer the safety and stability of NIB’s highly-rated bonds, and public authorities want to see projects with high mandate fulfilment. The Bank’s mandate is to enhance the environment and strengthen competitiveness of the Nordic-Baltic owner countries.

Most of the respondents preferred receiving information about NIB, its services and offerings, via bilateral contacts and online-based tools such as the NIB Newsletter.
