The loan has been provided for Nord-Trøndelag Elektrisitetsverk (NTE) to roll out optic fibre broadband network during 2025-2027 in Trøndelag, Norway.
Fulfilment of NIB's mandate
The fiber rollout supports Norway’s goal of universal broadband access, improving service quality and reliability.
It also enables 5G by providing backhaul for mobile base stations, extending high-capacity connectivity to sparsely populated areas. This enhances speed, stability, uptime and enables replacement of lower bandwidth connections.
Reliable fiber reduces outages, supports business growth, and ensures critical functions. Investments cover both new customer acquisition and modernization of legacy platforms and equipment.
