Project

The uncommitted credit facility has been made available to the Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa (HUS) to finance the construction of a new ward building in Jorvi Hospital in Espoo, Finland.

The 25-year-maturity loan will be used for the construction of the new ward building that will provide functional premises for the needs of special health care and strengthen the emergency role of Jorvi Hospital.

HUS is a joint municipal authority which is responsible for specialized medical care services in its member municipalities in Southern Finland. The biggest members are the cities of Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa with around 65% share. HUS is the largest hospital district in Finland serving 1.6 million inhabitants.

Fulfilment of NIB's mandate

Productivity:

The investment will improve and modernize the hospital infrastructure, streamline operations and bring more treatment capacity to the healthcare system of southern Finland where the demand for the services is significantly increasing, especially among working and elderly population.

Environment:

The new hospital ward building will not be certified according to any green building certification scheme.
