Project

The loan is provided for financing DLF-Trifolium’s R&D programme in 2014/2015–2017/2018. The aim of the programme is to develop new tailor-made clover and grass varieties with higher productivity or pest resistance.

The company actively cooperates with plant breeding stations and universities in Denmark and other countries, contributing to the evolution of sector-specific knowledge and cross-disciplinary cooperation.

DLF-Trifolium is the world’s biggest seed company within the breeding, production, sale and marketing of cool season clover and grass seed species. The company is based in Denmark and owned by Danish seed growers. DLF-Trifolium employs more than 800 people in 13 countries.

Competitiveness:
The research programme will contribute to increased productivity and improved business processes within the company, and add new product offerings. The company is part of an international network of research sites, and has built up a technological platform for exchanging knowledge and transferring skills.

Environment:
No significant environmental benefits can be identified.
