Project
The loan has been provided to finance Demant’s R&D investments in 2019.
The company’s current R&D programme focuses on designing new wireless hearing devices and more effective acoustic implants. Demant is working in close cooperation with several universities and research centres, as well as the corporate sector, to improve its technology and products.
This is the third loan agreed between NIB and William Demant since 2015.
Demant A/S is an internationally leading company in the field of modern hearing solutions. The company is owned by William Demant Holding A/S. Listed on the Nasdaq Copenhagen since 1995, the group develops and manufactures hearing aids, diagnostic instruments and audiometric equipment to aid personal communication.
Fulfilment of NIB's mandate
Demant’s has a share of approximately 23% of the global hearing aid market, and the company’s R&D intensity has been increasing with its turnover. The ongoing research programme is mainly focusing on improved computational power and longevity, aiming to improve the user’s experience.
