Project

The credit facility has been provided to the City of Malmö to finance investments in wastewater and stormwater infrastructure during 2025–2029. The programme includes the renewal and expansion of pipeline networks and related systems to maintain reliable services and support urban development. 

Total investment costs are estimated to be approximately SEK 2,000 million. 

Fulfilment of NIB's mandate

The project contributes to productivity by maintaining essential infrastructure and ensuring reliable wastewater services. The programme supports continued urban development and reduces the risk of service disruptions by addressing ageing pipeline networks. 

The project contributes to environmental protection by improving wastewater collection and treatment systems, helping reduce discharges into waterbodies.
