Project
The loan will finance Arla Foods’ acquisition of a stake in the dairy business of Finland’s Ingman Group. The acquisition of Ingman’s dairy business will strengthen Arla Foods’ competitive position on the Finnish market by adding a sales and distribution network as well as its own local production. The group’s sales in Finland are expected to see a significant increase. Established in 2000 through the merger of two dairy cooperatives, Denmark’s MD Foods and Sweden’s Arla, Arla Foods is Europe’s second largest dairy company. A long-term loan from NIB will strengthen Arla Foods’ competitiveness both in the Nordic region and globally.
Sustainability summary
Arla Foods’ acquisition of the Finnish dairy company Ingman will not change or increase any known and manageable environmental impacts. Ingman as well as most of Arla Foods’ production facilities are certified according to ISO 14001.
