Minister of Finance of Estonia Mart Võrklaev: the Nordic-Baltic region is stronger together
“As the Governors of NIB, we called on the Bank to maximise its contribution for climate and nature, productivity, and innovation, as well as security and resilience. By adapting to new challenges and focusing on additionality, NIB’s financing can further improve prosperity and cooperation within the region,” says Chair of NIB’s Board of Governors and Minister of Finance of Estonia Mart Võrklaev.
The Board of Governors of NIB held its annual meeting on 22 March in Tallinn. During the meeting, the Governors agreed to distribute EUR 63 million from the Bank’s profit as dividends to its Nordic and Baltic countries and discussed how NIB can best assist them when Russia’s war in Ukraine and common challenges continue bringing the region closer together.
The Governors released a statement in light of their meeting.
The meeting was hosted by the Chair of the Board and Minister of Finance of Estonia Mart Võrklaev, who gave his comments in a video statement.
