Denmark’s Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs: NIB has the expertise to make our goals a reality

On 5 May, NIB’s Board of Governors approved the Bank’s annual accounts for 2021 and a payment of EUR 40 million as dividends to the Nordic and Baltic member countries. Simon Kollerup, Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs of Denmark and Chair of the NIB’s Board of Governors gave his comments on the Bank’s activities and outlook for the future in a video interview.

“For me, there are two key goals: make the Nordic and Baltic region independent of Russian gas and oil, and show the world that green transition and growth can go hand in hand,” says Simon Kollerup.

“The Nordic Investment Bank has the expertise to play an important role in making these goals a reality. NIB can invest in green energy production. But the bank can also – and perhaps more uniquely – invest in transforming the hard-to-abate sectors that also have to ‘go green’.”
