Chief Compliance Officer

 for a five year fixed-term contract

Good governance and corporate social responsibility are vital concepts in business today and form the core of the Bank’s efforts to maintain integrity and avoid reputational risk in daily business.

The Compliance function, headed by the Chief Compliance Officer, is an independent unit of the Bank. The Chief Compliance Officer reports directly to the President and has unrestricted access to the Chairperson of the Board of Directors and the Chairperson of the Control Committee.

Main responsibilities

  • To identify, assess, monitor and report on compliance risks relating to the Bank and its operations
  • Responsible for receiving and investigating allegations of corruption and misconduct relating to the Bank’s staff and external stakeholders, such as borrowers and contractors, and handling of complaints on non-compliance with the Bank’s policies and procedures
  • Observing the development of different types of compliance and integrity requirements, e.g. as issued by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, EU, OECD, Finance Action Task Force (FATF), and other IFIs, and to develop relevant policies and procedures to guide the Bank in following good compliance and integrity principles in all its operations
  • Helping the Bank to live up to its core values by ensuring high ethical standards and to have up-to-date Codes of Conducts
  • Monitoring the Bank’s integrity screening process for lending, treasury and other activities by inter alia ensuring that the Bank has appropriate IDD, AML/CTF, Sanctions and Non-compliant jurisdictions guidelines and screening tools in place

Candidates should have

  • A Master’s degree in law, economics, finance or equivalent
  • Solid experience in the field of compliance, integrity and anti-corruption
  • Experience of the operations of a financial institution and international activities
  • Knowledge of the Nordic-Baltic legal framework as well as the financial and business environment
  • A network within the compliance area preferably from the banking sector and/or IFIs
  • Good presentation and communication skills
