NIB has signed a long-term loan agreement for SEK 300 million
(EUR 31 million) with the Swedish packaging material and solutions provider BillerudKorsnäs AB for funding the company’s research and development (R&D) programme in 2015–2019.

The seven-year-maturity loan for BillerudKorsnäs will assist the company in developing sustainable and more energy-efficient material technologies that will improve the competitiveness of paper and board packaging in comparison to traditional solutions that use plastic and aluminium foil.

BillerudKorsnäs AB is a Swedish paper and packaging manufacturer headquartered in Solna. Established in 2012, the company employs approximately 4,300 employees and runs eight production units with sales offices in ten countries.

NIB is an international financial institution owned by eight member countries: Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden. The Bank finances private and public projects in and outside the member countries. NIB has the highest possible credit rating, AAA/Aaa, with the leading rating agencies Standard & Poor’s and Moody’s.
