NIB and the Swedish real estate development company Chalmersfastigheter AB have signed a loan agreement totalling SEK 142 million (EUR 15 million) for the construction of new facilities at the Johanneberg Science Park in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The new facilities, a combined 8,000 square metres, will be part of the Johanneberg Science Park established in 2010 by the Chalmers University of Technology Foundation and the city of Gothenburg with the purpose to develop a collaborative environment for ideas and knowledge exchange between academia, industry and society.

“The loan we are providing to Chalmers will help the science park and the regional cluster to strengthen the connection between industry and academic research”, says Henrik Normann, NIB President & CEO.

The construction phase is expected to be completed in 2015. The buildings will be certified for energy use, indoor environment and materials and are expected to achieve the Green Building level “Gold”.

Chalmersfastigheter AB was founded in 1999 for managing, redeveloping and expanding premises for the needs of the university.
