NIB finances investments in government property

NIB and Finland’s state property management agency Senaatti-kiinteistöt have signed a 10-year-maturity loan agreement, totalling EUR 50 million, to finance investments in governmental offices and a research centre.

The new loan agreement will finance the construction of the House of Nuclear Safety for the state-run VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and the renovation of four governmental buildings. The renovation targets are energy savings, reduction of operational costs and more efficient use of office space.

The buildings earmarked for renovation are the offices of the ministries of employment and economy, interior, and finance as well as an office building used by the government’s regional organisations in the city of Turku.

Senaatti-kiinteistöt is a state-owned enterprise under the Finnish Ministry of Finance, providing property services to governmental customers. It is responsible for 10,800 premises in Finland.

NIB is an international financial institution owned by eight member countries: Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden. The Bank finances private and public projects in and outside the member countries. NIB has the highest possible credit rating, AAA/Aaa, with the leading rating agencies Standard & Poor’s and Moody’s.
