NIB funds NCC green building in Finland and Sweden

NIB has signed a SEK 500 million (EUR 55 million) loan agreement with NCC Treasury AB for financing two energy-efficient office buildings in Finland and Sweden.

The 7-year-maturity loan has been provided to build two multi-tenant office buildings, one located in Helsinki and another in Stockholm. The projects comply with the EU Green Building programme and have the second highest BREEAM certification level.

The voluntary European Union’s Green Building classification is given to non-residential buildings that consume at least 25% less energy than set in current standard norms. BREEAM, the leading Building Research Establishment Environmental Assesment Method in Europe, considers the climate impact of new buildings from a lifecycle perspective.

NCC is one of the leading construction and property development companies in the Nordic region, with operations in the Baltic countries, Russia and Germany. The group has 17,500 employees. NCC is headquartered in Solna, Sweden, and listed on the Nasdaq OMX Exchange Stockholm.

The Nordic Investment Bank is the common international financial institution of the eight Nordic and Baltic countries. NIB provides long-term financing to the energy, environmental, transport, logistics and communications, and innovation sectors for projects that strengthen competitiveness and enhance the environment. NIB has the highest possible credit rating, AAA/Aaa, with the leading rating agencies Standard & Poor’s and Moody’s.
