NIB finances green building developments in Stockholm’s life science cluster

NIB and the Swedish real estate company Atrium Ljungberg AB (publ) have signed a SEK 920 million (EUR 87.1 million) loan agreement for green building construction in Hagastaden, Stockholm.

The seven-year-maturity loan will finance the construction of “Life City”, an office building that will aim for BREEAM Excellent certification for green buildings.

“Life City” will provide 27,500 square metres of office area in a life science cluster next to the New Karolinska University Hospital.

The new office space will be mostly occupied by Academic Work, a recruitment company that helps students and recent graduates to enter the labour market. Its location will thus benefit both the employers and the employees in Stockholm’s growing business cluster for healthcare, research and life sciences.

The project is scheduled to be completed during 2022. The total project cost is approximately SEK 1,840 million.
