Finland: E18 Koskenkylä-Kotka ready ahead of schedule

The final stretches of the E18 motorway in southeast Finland were taken into use in early September one month ahead of schedule. The motorway is the result of a public­-private-partnership that got underway less than three years ago and includes all necessary maintenance work until the end of 2026. Guided by a “green motorway” concept, the project is serving as a testing platform for sustainable development technology.



Vilnius thriving on change

The Lithuanian capital Vilnius has been focused on change for years now and it does not plan to stop anytime soon. From newly built roads to the introduction of higher class technologies, the city is constantly upgrading itself to become a more comfortable place to live.

The fresh water supplies in the southern Swedish region of Scania may not be enough for the future need of the growing polulation. Therefore the local water utility Sydvatten is investing in new pumps and pipes, a project co-financed by NIB.
