NIB and the Danish infrastructure operator Copenhagen Airports A/S have signed a ten-year loan agreement, totalling DKK 130 million (EUR 17 million), to increase the airport’s capacity of servicing intercontinental passengers.
The upgrade of Pier C is part of the Copenhagen Airport’s investments is intended to increase the number of intercontinental flights and passengers. The upgraded pier was inaugurated in late autumn 2015, and the number of intercontinental passengers serviced at Copenhagen Airport in December increased by 15% year-on-year. International and intercontinental flights are seen as the main driver to achieve a planned increase of passenger traffic from the current 26.6 million to 40 million annually in several years.
