International financing to help clean Lake Onega

A NIB loan to Petrozavodsk in Northwest Russia is earmarked for the reduction of untreated wastewater being discharged into Lake Onega. The loan is being provided as part of an international finance package, which also includes a loan from NEFCO, grants from the NDEP Fund and the Finnish Ministry of the Environment, as well as financing from Russia's federal government and the government of the Republic of Karelia.

NIB to finance key infrastructure projects in Vilnius

NIB and the City of Vilnius have signed an agreement providing the city with a new loan facility for financing a municipal investment programme, which includes upgrades of infrastructure for sludge and wastewater treatment and improvement of energy efficiency in public buildings.
