A loan to Norwegian Agder Energi AS will help increase hydropower production in Norway by expanding existing capacity and building new power plants.

A NIB loan to Petrozavodsk in Northwest Russia is earmarked for the reduction of untreated wastewater being discharged into Lake Onega. The loan is being provided as part of an international finance package, which also includes a loan from NEFCO, grants from the NDEP Fund and the Finnish Ministry of the Environment, as well as financing from Russia's federal government and the government of the Republic of Karelia.
