The loan facility totalling EUR 30 million will be used for onlending to private households, farms and small and medium-sized enterprises in order to finance small-scale environmental projects. Aktia Säästöpankki (Aktia Savings Bank) was founded in 1826, and was created in its current form at the beginning of the 1990s. Aktia is owned by Finnish savings bank foundations, institutions, savings banks and private individuals.
The loan facility to Aktia will have positive environmental impacts. Being aimed towards households, farmers and medium sized enterprises, the subloans will help to decrease, prevent, as well as treat diffuse emissions in Finland and the Baltic Sea.
