The 7-year-maturity loan totalling EUR 30 million has been provided for Wärtsilä's acquisition of the global ship design group Vik-Sandvik. The group provides design and engineering services to the ship building industry worldwide.

Wärtsilä's strategy is to strengthen its position as a provider of ship power solutions, e.g. providing engine room, propulsion and automation and electrical solutions for all the marine industry segments. Wärtsilä has operations in 160 locations in 70 countries around the world with 19,000 employees.

Environmental summary

Wärtsilä's acquisition of the ship design group Vik-Sandvik is being carried out in accordance with NIB's environmental policy and guidelines. The acquisition does not include any production facilities that might contain environmental liabilities.
