*The district cooling system was taken into operation starting from 1 July 2008. In 2010, additional areas were connected to the cooling system.
As concerns its direct ecological footprint and housekeeping, NIB has internal environmental guidelines for office practices, facilities management and procurement.
NIB complies with the requirements of current EU environmental legislation and in many respects goes beyond what legislation requires.
In 2009, NIB's Headquarters in Helsinki joined the WWF Green Office network.
NIB loan to large wind farm project in Sweden
NIB has provided a EUR 61 million loan to DNB Bank ASA. The funds will be onlent to finance one of northern Europe’s largest onshore wind farms, in Jädraås, eastern Sweden.
